Description of campsite :
Excellent situation on shore of Lake Lucerne with wonderful mountain view. Own little beach, free of charge. Grassy pitches next to the lake. 8 km from Lucerne, accessible by train, bus and boat. Various excursions, boat cruises, hiking, biking. 4 km to Mt. Rigi, Queen of the Mountains (6000 ft). * Access to Merlischachen: Situated 8 km East of Luzern city centre. Follow signs Kussnacht am Rigi, main road 2, entering Merlischachen, right on Lake Lucerne. Motorway A2/E35 Basel - Luzern - Gotthard - Italy: Exit Luzern, 10 km direction Kussnacht am Rigi. Motorway A4/E41 Zurich - Schwyz - Gotthard - Italy: Exit 36 Kussnacht am Rigi, 6 km direction Meggen - Luzern. Train S3 Luzern - Kussnacht - Brunnen: Merlischachen (900 m). Boat Luzern - Kussnacht: Merlischachen (500 m). Bus 24 Luzern - Meggen: Meggen-Gottlieben (1100 m). Bus 29 Meggen - Kussnacht: Merlischachen-Camping (100 m). * Characteristics: Our campground is opened from April until September and offers about 50 pitches for tourists, nearly 200 meters of shore and an own little beach. Please note that we provide only basic facilities in a mobile building put up in summer 2007. We have grassy sites for caravans/campervans (limited access 3.5 tons and 7 meters length) and two tent areas. Tents are welcome in a car-free zone next to the lake (separate parking) and in the midfield where parking next to the tent is allowed.
